About Us

Great apes Uganda Safaris is the Number 1 ultimate African apes {primates} Organisation with an Affiliation to Conservation, Preservation and Education to help the people of Africa understand and respect the wildlife and its habitat.

With a broad range of expertise in conservation and cultural issues, Great apes Uganda runs its trips based on Eco-tourism with due respect to the people and the wildlife of Africa.

Having seen the people and the wildlife of Africa go through the most hard times in the past century, Great apes Uganda is working hand in hand with several government agencies and International organisations to bring back the lost joy and happiness to the people as well as the wildlife of Africa.

Great Apes Uganda Safaris has its Headquaters in Uganda (Kampala) and a sales office in the United States of America (Connecticut) and we are expanding to Europe in the near future. At GAUS we will be very delighted to handle and plan your Dream safari to the Gorilla Country. From Gorilla, Chimpanzee, Savannah wildlife, birding, Snick viewing, to Mountain hiking we will be with you throughout these adventurous life dreams.

The People

Musa Lubega- The CEO

Musa was born and raised in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda's second largest protected area. As a kid, my best friend was A warthog called Hakilii [clover] we played with this guy a lot that we had started letting him into our house and when he started eating our food, that was stopped immediately.

My father was a game ranger and I did go with him out in the jungles most of the time, I saw a lot of poaching and unnecessary killing of wildlife that has to-date kept me working with the animals in Uganda.

I first volunteered for the park, worked in the national park and I have since worked as a safari guide which I love most since its taken all over Uganda and lots of other African countries, and Its earned me a sponsorship for my graduate studies in the USA.

I still write proposals to the Uganda Wildlife Authority on tourism potentials in protected areas. I am a life time member of the Uganda bird guides association, member of wildlife conservation society, member of the African Wildlife foundation and a member of Gorilla tracker.
