The infrastructure, the accommodation, the level of tourism services, the road and air networks, telecommunications, medical facilities and availability of consumer goods are quite basic by Western standards. These circumstances make it different to a holiday in a developed country. Be prepared for these conditions and take with you all necessary equipment and medication.
Some of the activities - gorilla and chimp tracking, white-water rafting, mountaineering, canoeing in local boats, launch cruises, game viewing - can pose extra risks and should be done with due care and only if clients are fit and healthy.
Security and weather changes can sometimes require unexpected changes in programmes and in exceptional cases, cancellation of aspects of the agreed safari as a result of circumstances beyond our control. Our goal is to provide a rewarding and safe travel experience.
WHEN TO START PLANNING
The sooner the better
It's that our trips are almost run and based on the availability of Gorilla permits, which are on a very high demand today and the very limited supply of safari camps in the region's prime safari areas is another question.
If you are planning to make your dream come true, our advice is, please don't loosen the momentum if so, put the formal planning aside for some time in the future. And if a Gorilla tour is something that you wanna pursue and can be in position to the commitment, now is the time to act.
+ If you are a group of four or more planning to travel together.
+ Planning a trip during any holidays or has a time-frame for your travel.
+ Do you want to see Gorillas in Uganda and Rwanda or track chimps ?
If any of the above is in your criteria, Great-apes strongly booking at least a year in advance and 16 month is much preferable so securing accommodations can be much easier. We know that this long term commitment can be a challenging one, but its the safest way to avoid any disappointments and a perfect way to ensure that our clients get exactly what they want.
And if you are behind your schedule, do not give up and let your dreams go unfulfilled. A try is always worth a Gorilla track. Sometimes their has been cancellations and getting rooms can always come in at a very short notice and there is relatively a short notice of Gorilla permit availability. We also sometimes get our clients postponding their trip and will keep a you on a standby timetable. In these circumstances we request our clients to be flexible time wise so that we can be able switch our destination order to fit there trip. {This is only in case of late booking.
In all our initial conversation, our agent will ask you "So when should we start getting our trip on the table" Today there is nothing rewarding like planning a Gorilla tracking expedition long in advance at Great-apes Uganda Safaris.
